Tired of life? Nah… this is London!

“Why, Sir, you find no man, at all intellectual, who is willing to leave London. No, Sir, when a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford.” So said Samuel Johnson, back in 1777. And whilst Johnson may have been thinking about the gentlemen’s clubs where he could find witty discourse, I thought I would content myself with some of the views of this famous city.

The classic shot

A cold December evening is a good time for a photographic wander down the Thames. Thank heavens for the gloves and the hat, though, it was bitter!

Blue is the colour, blue the temperature

Cold wintry nights can be magical though – especially in lovely cities. Here, on the river, is a German winter market in the middle of London. Glühwein and Bratwurst, warming for the hands and stomach, and a beautiful carousel. London is a great European city, whatever our bl€£dy politicians say!

These pics all came from a 4 hour walk down the river, courtesy of a photography tour guide (let me know if you want details!). What a great way to see the sights.

Ancient and Modern

And we finish up at Tower Bridge with London buses whizzing along. Tired of London? Never…, you might as well be tired of life!
